Bafang Mid Drive Q-Factor Problem/ Lekkie Buzz Bar Crank Set

One common issue with Bafang mid-drive motors after installation is an imbalanced Q-factor. This occurs because the distance from the end of the bottom bracket to the end of the axle is typically shorter on the left side compared to the right. Once the cranks and pedals are installed, this uneven spacing can result in an asymmetrical pedal stance.

The stock cranks included with the standard Bafang kit come with a built-in offset on the left crank arm, but this offset is often insufficient to fully correct the Q-factor imbalance.

To address this, Lekkie offers an upgraded solution with their "Buzz Bars" crank set. The left crank in this set includes a significant offset of 15.6 millimeters, which helps to balance the pedal spacing on both sides of the bike.

The Buzz Bars are self-extracting cranks, making installation straightforward. Only an 8mm hex key is required. The cranks are secured with the included bolt and install directly onto the axle. Once tightened, the Q-factor becomes balanced, providing improved rider ergonomics and symmetry.

Although an imperfect Q-factor may not be a critical problem for all riders, upgrading to Lekkie Buzz Bars provides an ideal pedal stance and is recommended for those seeking optimized performance and comfort.
