Abbas from Golden Motor introduces the Bafang C965 display, which is a vertical black-and-white screen measuring about three and a half by two inches. The display has five buttons: power, up, down, left, and right. To turn the display on, simply hold down the power button for a few seconds. The top of the screen shows your current speed, and by pressing the left button, you can cycle through additional speed-related information such as average speed and maximum speed. Pressing the left button again will return you to the regular speed display.
At the bottom of the screen, various trip data are available. By pressing the right button, you can cycle through trip distance, odometer (total distance), and trip time. To reset the trip distance and time, hold down the right button. The battery level is shown with five bars indicating the charge level. Pedal assist levels can be adjusted using the up and down buttons, ranging from zero, which means no assist, to three by default. The number of assist levels can be increased to five or nine in advanced settings. When pedal assist is set to zero, the motor will not provide assistance unless the controller is unlocked to allow throttle operation.
One useful feature of the C965 display is its temperature readout, which can be shown in either Celsius or Fahrenheit, with the option to switch between the two in the settings. The display’s backlight can be manually turned on or off by holding the top button, and it also includes a sensor that detects your finger to automatically toggle the backlight. To reset average and maximum speed readings, hold down the left button. Walk mode, which assists the motor to push you while walking uphill, can be activated by holding down the power button.
To access the settings menu, double tap the power button. Here you can change the speed units between kilometers per hour and miles per hour by using the up and down buttons and saving your choice with the right button. You can also select temperature units, adjust the backlight sensitivity and brightness, enable or disable the button beep sounds, and set an automatic power-off timer for the display between one and nine minutes of inactivity. The menu also allows you to toggle the power output display in watts on the home screen and check the maintenance reminder, which is currently inactive. Additionally, you can set the wheel size anywhere from 16 to 29 inches.
The advanced settings menu is password protected and can be accessed by pressing next in the basic menu and entering the default password 1919. Inside the advanced menu, you can adjust the maximum speed limit and increase the number of pedal assist levels to five or nine, providing more customization for your riding preferences.
Overall, the Bafang C965 is a versatile display offering essential information and customizable options to enhance your e-bike experience. If you find this guide helpful, subscribing to Golden Motor’s channel is recommended for more tutorials and support.
