Hey, this is Abbas from Golden Motor. Today, I’m going to explain how to use the Bafang 500C display. First, to turn it on, just hold the power button at the bottom for a few seconds. The 500C is a compact full-color LCD display, about three inches by one and a half inches. Unlike some other Bafang displays, the buttons are integrated right into the screen. You have the plus and minus buttons on the side, an M button, and the power button at the bottom.

At the top left, you’ll see the power output in watts. When you press the throttle, that number goes up and down accordingly. On the top right is the battery indicator, which shows full charge here. The middle of the screen displays your speed, which can be set to kilometers per hour or miles per hour. On the bottom right, you’ll find the pedal assist level, which you can adjust using the plus and minus buttons. It can go all the way up to level nine. A nice feature is the display vibrates each time you press a button, giving you a tactile feel.

In the middle of the screen, you have trip information that you can cycle through by pressing the M button. This will show the trip distance, time, and odometer. At the bottom left, there is a light icon. If your bike has lights connected, you can hold down the plus button to turn them on or off.

When you press the brake, an exclamation mark appears to indicate that the motor is cut off. Also, if you hold down the minus button, your bike will enter walk mode, which helps you push your bike uphill or when you’re tired.

The pedal assist level can also be set to zero, which means the motor won’t assist even if you pedal or use the throttle. However, if you unlock your controller, you can get throttle control even at zero assist.

To access the basic menu, hold the M button for a few seconds. You can then change the units between metric and imperial by tapping M to select, using plus or minus to choose, and pressing M again to save. You can adjust the brightness, set the auto power-off timer from one to nine minutes, select your battery voltage, and choose whether the battery indicator shows voltage or percentage.

If you want to go into advanced settings, go to “More” in the menu, press M, and enter the password 1919 using the plus and minus buttons, then confirm with M. Here, you can set the wheel size, adjust the speed limit, and configure the assist levels to 3, 5, or 9. You also have the option to set a PIN code to secure your bike at startup.

When you’re finished, hold the M button to exit back to the home screen. That’s basically how to use the Bafang 500C display. If you need more help, feel free to ask or watch the full video.
